A SEVENTEEN-YEAR-OLD has died from a rare form of cancer after being given two years to live in October 2015.
Kelly Turner, from Dover, passed away on Monday [November 6] following a battle with
desmoplastic small round cell tumour (DSRCT).
A fund set up in Kelly’s name, featured in the Times, raised more than £600,000 of its £1million target to fund treatment for Kelly in the USA.
Tonbridge-based charity Tree of Hope supported Kelly’s fundraising and will continue to work with her family, who aim to increase awareness of DSRCT.
Gill Gibb, Tree of Hope Chief executive, said: “Kelly was a true inspiration to everyone who came into contact with her and despite her illness remained positive that she would get better and have the life she so rightly deserved.
“Our thoughts and love go out to Martin and Linda who have been tireless in their dedication to find a solution to save their beautiful and brave daughter’s life.”
