Kent has enjoyed a £30million stimulus to its economy after a string of box office hits and TV shows have chosen to film in the county.

The figures, which cover the last five years, were released by The Kent Film Office, which said the money generated boosts the local economy through spending on things like wages, hotels, transport and location fees.

Money from filming has increased dramatically in the past five years, rising from £2.6million in 2011/12 to £6.7million in 2014/15.

Among the most popular locations for filming is Penshurst Place, while films such as Tulip Fever and Les Miserables brought in around £800,000 each.
