Lordswood 3 Tunbridge Wells 0
FOLLOWING an improved run of form in recent weeks, Tunbridge Wells suffered a 3-0 away defeat to fellow Kent side Lordswood in the Southern Counties East Football League.
Wells secretary Phill Allcorn explained that while the team were disappointed with the result and the margin of defeat, they are determined to finish the year in positive fashion.
He said: “Any 3-0 defeat is hard to take, especially when it is against a team that you are closely fighting for league places with.
The players are not stupid, they know they need to pick up on their performances and work together with our management team to begin to get some victories together, which we admit is going to be tough over the Christmas period with some tricky looking fixtures.
“For me, the inconsistency of our results and performances adds to the frustration.
“As soon as we get a couple of wins together against Whitstable and Deal, we began to believe that we have turned things around.
“We then slip to two unexpected defeats. You just don’t seem to know what you’re going to get with us this season.
“However, at the start of the season the target was always set that this was going to be one of transition, with Jason Bourne taking charge for his first full season and also having pre-season under his own steam.”
Mr Allcorn added that he hoped the team would ‘soon put a smile back on the faces of supporters’ who deserved more from the side.
He said there was a sense of optimism in the squad as it prepares for its next match this weekend against Corinthian.
