Tunbridge Wells Ladies 1st XI 4 Sudbury 1st XI 2
TUNBRIDGE WELLS Ladies had to work hard to overcome lowly Sudbury at Hawkenbury in what proved to be a tough match.
Wells started off strong with some great link-up play and a well executed short corner saw England teenager Georgia Whitaker fire the ball into the back board.
The hosts kept the pressure and forced another mistake from the defence. An alteration to the short corner routine allowed Ana Glubb to find the net and put Wells 2-0 up going into the half-time break.
The third goal came shortly after the break, with player of the match Glubb on target again.
Sudbury had a couple of good counter attacks and managed and brought the score back to 3-2 but with a goal from Roberta Organ ensured victory for the home side.
