Minister praises Post Office modernisation

GREG CLARK welcomed the transformation of Southborough’s Post Office last week as a ‘vital part’ of the community and said he was ‘delighted’ its long-term future had been secured.
The Tunbridge Wells MP, also Minister for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy, said the move to open seven days a week, with 22 hours extra overall, meant ‘it can serve the community even more’.
During a two-week refit, the Post Office and store at 68 London Road has been fully refurbished by new Postmaster Mr Sivarajah Sivathevan.
Previously, it sold cards and stationery as well as being a Post Office. Now it is also a convenience store. The new opening hours are Monday-Thursday 8am-6pm, Friday-Saturday 8am-8pm and Sunday 9am-1pm.
