Instead of sending out a company Christmas card this year, Tunbridge Wells creative communications agency Southpaw has come up with a crackling way to celebrate the festive season and raise money for charity at the same time.
Southpaw have engaged the services of five pigs to take part in a race representing five different local charities, Tree of Hope, Hospice in the Weald, SERV Blood Bikes Kent, Imago and Kent Wildlife Trust.
The agency teamed up with Oaklands Pig Farm in Rotherfield to select five of Kent’s finest show pigs to take part in the 50-metre sprint. The winner will be announced today (December 14) at www.southpawagency.com/pigsinblankets
The website also shows the race and behind-the-scenes footage, and features profiles of the porcines and Top Trumps style cards with information about their weight, speed and behaviour.
The competitors are as follows: Bah Hambug (Imago), Brussels Snout (Hospice in the Weald), Fairytail of New Pork (SERV Blood Bikes Kent), Yule Hog (Kent Wildlife Trust) and Mary’s Boar Child (Tree of Hope).
Each contestant has also been set up with its own JustGiving page, and Southpaw have pledged to donate an additional £250 to the winning team’s charity.
