Post Office staff ignore strike call

It was business as usual at the Crown Post Office in Tunbridge Wells this week as staff defied union calls for strike action.

The Communication Workers Union hoped to shut 300 main branches in a dispute over jobs, pensions and closures. Only a handful shut their doors on Monday and Tuesday and Tunbridge Wells was not among them.

Local customer Michael Ewing, queuing to collect an Amazon package, said: “I think it’s absolutely marvellous they stayed open.”
