RUSTHALL resident Claudia Oliviera, who works for Bluebird Care, has been named Care Assistant of the Year for Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells.
The award was presented by the Mayor and Mayoress of Tunbridge Wells, Cllr David Neve and Mrs Jill Neve, at a special afternoon tea on 23rd February 23 at Bluebird Care’s office in Pipers Business Centre, Tonbridge.
The nominations give an opportunity to recognise excellence in care and highlight the importance of all those in a caring role.
It follows Bluebird Care’s Every Visit Counts campaign, which raised awareness of the importance of the role of care assistants in combatting loneliness.
Claudia, whose name was put forward after a survey of customers, said: “I did not expect to be recognised in this way for a job that I enjoy doing every day.
“I am honoured to have been nominated Care Worker of the Year and would like to thank everyone who voted for me.
She added: “I know that I am part of a great team of care assistants here at Bluebird Care and am grateful in addition for all the support that they have provided since I started.”
Claire Stanley, Care Manager, said: “Claudia works very hard to make sure that all her customers’ needs are met and she always goes that little bit further to make sure they are well cared for. She is a real credit to my team and our company.
“We have received so many compliments about Claudia’s excellent approach to her role, and one customer in particular commented ‘Claudia gets on so well with my husband and makes everything look so easy. She is so happy, cheerful and always takes time for a chat as well as providing care’.”
