Tunbridge Wells is set to become a colourful showground for live theatre and animation when the Tunbridge Wells Puppetry Festival returns to the town this October. Following the success of the first festival held in 2015, organisers are promising an even bigger, more varied line-up of award-winning entertainment for all ages when it returns on 13 and 14 October – a rare chance to experience the magic and skill of puppetry on your doorstep.
Get set for a packed programme of world-class puppetry, animation and object theatre, including global theatrical phenomenon Disney’s THE LION KING who will be partnering this year’s festival with workshops for schools and two exciting events at Trinity Theatre – an exhibition of costumes, puppets and masks from the West End production, plus an on-stage masterclass and Q&A with members of the cast and puppetry department.
With some of the very best in the business lined up to perform their magical, funny, moving and amazing shows across the town centre, there really will be something for everyone, including a host of free entertainment to enjoy on The Pantiles on Saturday 14 October, so if you’ve never considered seeing a puppetry show before, why not come along and give it a go?
