What's different about it?
THE NEWSPAPER is the biggest title in Tunbridge Wells, with a print run of 30,000 copies, giving a readership of 75,000*. It uses a ‘large’ tabloid format, with 72 pages of 310mm x 385mm. Copies are distributed within a ten-mile radius of the town centre, giving it ‘saturation local coverage’; more impact than any other publication. Print schedules enable the paper to carry local and up-to-date national news, making it unique.
Free copies are handed out at railway stations and throughout the town, including the pedestrian precinct, the High Street and The Pantiles, plus surrounding suburbs and villages. It is also available in selected newsagents and supermarkets. Our design team create advertisements and promotional campaigns from scratch and free of charge for all sectors, including property sales.
*Based on an average of 2.5 readers per copy
Who's behind it?
THE NEWSPAPER has been launched by One Media and Creative UK Ltd, the company that publishes So Tunbridge Wells magazine and other titles. One Media is part of the Markerstudy Group of Companies and through its trading name Markerstudy Leisure, works in association with businesses including the Next Dimension Gymnastics Academy and Salomons Estate in Tunbridge Wells.
Why it will be a success
WE ARE not in this for the short term. We are committed to creating a quality local newspaper that becomes part of the social fabric of Tunbridge Wells, and achieving that will take time. We are, however, confident that this is exactly what will happen, given the resources allocated to the development, production and distribution of the newspaper. The Markerstudy Group was formed in 2001 and is ranked 11th in The Sunday Times 100 Best Companies to Work For 2015. The group has an annual turnover of almost £3billion, plus an impressive track record of launching successful new initiatives.
